Monday, November 2, 1998 Published at 23:16 GMT World: Asia-Pacific Iran and Tajikistan criticise Taleban The Tajik foreign minister, Talbak Nazarov, who's visiting Iran has called on Tehran to continue what he called its positive and effective role in supporting the peace process in Tajikistan. The Iranian news agency says the two sides also criticised the Taleban movement in Afghanistan and called on all factions there to work towards the formation of a broad-based government. The Iranian foreign minister, Kamal Kharazzi, highlighted the deep cultural and religious bonds between Iran and Tajikistan, and called for a further expansion of ties.
