Assam rebels kill two civilians
The authorities in the north-east Indian state of Assam say separatist rebels have killed two civilians in a grenade attack on a police patrol.

Officials said at least 20 others were injured when the grenades missed the policemen and landed outside a packed cinema hall, in the western district of Bongaigaon near the Bhutan border.

No group has, so far, said it carried out the attack.

But Indian intelligence officials said they suspect the involvement of the separatist group, the United Liberation Front of Assam.
