Business chief unleashes anti-Labour anger
The UK government is treating companies like "voteless cows to be milked," according to a British business leader.

The angry comment came from Sir John Egan, president of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) in a speech in Birmingham.

Labour politicians are loading UK plc with an increasingly heavy tax burden and not expecting any repercussions, said Sir John.

The CBI's Digby Jones added to the comments, saying that he had never seen British business so fed up and mistrusting of the government.

"Business is basically saying - be careful, there won't be much more to come if you don't feed the cow as well as milk it, " warned Mr Jones.

British businesses have been lumbered with additional National Insurance costs and also complain about red tape and the continuing uncertainty about whether or not the UK will join the euro.
