Businessmen kidnapped in Assam
The authorities in the northern Indian state of Assam say five businessmen have been kidnapped by suspected militants.

Details are sketchy, but the police say the men were travelling on the road that connects Assam with Bhutan, when the the tyres of their vehicle were shot out and they were taken captive.

Four of the businessmen are reported to be Marwaris from Rajasthan who police say were the target of a violent campaign two years ago by Assamese separatists.
