Asian reaction to G7 intiatives

Asian markets have given a cautious welcome to plans by the seven leading industrial countries for dealing with the global financial crisis.

Share prices in the Far East have followed the upward trend established by New York on Friday, and recent gains in Europe.

Analysts in Asia say the measures outlined could spur a regional recovery, hopes for which had so far been delayed by continued market instablity.

They said such a co-ordinated response by developed countries was something they'd been calling for.
