Patsy Calton
Date of birth 19 September 1948 Political profile Patsy Calton won Cheadle from the Conservatives by a whisker at the 2001 election, after also standing there at the two previous elections. Soon after her election, she was appointed a junior Liberal Democrat spokesman on Northern Ireland and has subsequently become a junior health spokesman. She was educated at UMIST, she taught chemistry and served as a governor at local schools for 30 years. She has served on Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council, where she was deputy leader with responsibility for social services.
