Spencer out but Jade warned
Spencer with his parents after leaving the Big Brother house
Some housemates are already missing Spencer
Big Brother's Jade Goody has been given a "strike" for discussing nominations, while the contestants are contemplating life without Spencer Smith.

Former favourite Spencer, 22, from Cambridge, got 55% of the public vote after being put up for eviction alongside model Alex Sibley, 23, from Hornchurch, Essex.

But Jade - already punished before for discussing who she would nominate for eviction from the £70,000 reality TV competition - has been given the first of three strikes before she is thrown out of the house.

I couldn't think of anything I'd done particularly wrong to anybody

Three other housemates have previously been given a strike for a variety of "offences" inside the camera-filled house.

Almost 2,750,000 votes were cast in Friday's eviction vote - the second highest ever total excluding finals.

Spencer had originally been the bookmakers' favourite to win the £70,000 grand prize. Alex is the new favourite, despite being a 50-1 outsider in the first week.

And Sunday's tabloid newspapers were full of speculation as to whether romance might bloom between Spencer and Kate Lawler when she eventually joined him on the outside.

Screaming fans

But the pair's flirtation has failed to capture the public's imagination in the same way as Paul Clarke and Helen Adams's did last year.

As he was evicted from the house, Spencer was met by crowds of screaming fans and said he was slightly surprised to have been kicked out.

"I knew I had as much chance as anybody else, but I was a little bit surprised," he said. "I couldn't think of anything I'd done particularly wrong to anybody."

Jade has repeatedly discussed nominations
He showed little emotion when host Davina McCall announced that he was to become the fourth contestant to be voted out, saying "it's me then" and asking for a cigarette and a cheese sandwich.

He described his two weeks in the poor side of the house as "terrible" and "awful". "I hated every minute of it," he said.

After Saturday's task, Alex picked Jade, Adele Roberts, and PJ Ellis to be on the rich side of the house, while Jonny Regan, Sophie Pritchard, Kate and Tim Culley ended up on the poor side.

McCall told viewers on Friday that the "rich house, poor house" arrangement, which has seen bars split the house in two, would end on Saturday 29 June if all the housemates passed their task.
