Elvis still rides high
Elvis
Elvis's movies have spawned many hits
Remixed Elvis advert theme A Little Less Conversation has held onto the top of the singles chart, outselling Oasis's new release.

Elvis's 18th number one held off competition from the Manchester band's Stop Crying Your Eyes Out in second as well as Christina Milian's When You Look At Me.

Dutch DJ JXL's remix of A Little Less Conversation has sold on the back of Nike's World Cup adverts and feverish interest in the competition.

Oasis had hoped for a repeat of the success of The Hindu Times, which topped the singles charts at the end of April after an absence of almost two years.

Kylie's Love At First Sight, kept off the summit of the chart last week, fell to eighth in this week's chart.

Nelly's Hot in Herre was the third new entry in the top five, making its debut at number four.

Football plunge

British R&B act Mis-teeq took the number seven spot with their double A-side Roll On/This Is How We Do It.

Other football-related songs in the chart followed England's fortunes, with Ant and Dec's On The Ball dropping seven places to number 16.

And the Lightning Seeds and Baddiel and Skinner's re-released Three Lions, falling from number 19 to number 27.

The album charts continue to see strong sales from Eminem in the number one spot, although Sophie Ellis Bextor's Read My Lips shoots up to second place following singles success.

Meanwhile, the actress who Elvis sang A Little Less Conversation to in the 1968 movie Live A Little, Love A Little has told how the tune nearly caused her to fall for the star.

Celeste Yarnall, 57, says she is pleased the forgotten track has finally been given some recognition.

Specially-written number

"It makes me proud too because I always think of the song as mine and Elvis's song. He never sang it to anyone else as far as I know."

Ms Yarnall's character Ellen is romanced by the star at a party when he sweeps her off her feet by singing the specially-written number and taking her in his arms for a dance.

"One of the highlights of my life was knowing and working with him and being his friend. We had a spiritual connection, he was really something. I just adored him."

Yarnall says there was a strong physical attraction between her and Presley but both were married at the time of the film.

"I've waited for many, many years for this song and this movie to get the credit it is due and now that it has I'm just delighted."
