Monday, November 2, 1998 Published at 07:27 GMT World: South Asia Assam tanker fire In the Indian state of Assam, at least fifteen people have been burnt alive after two tankers carrying liquified petroleum gas caught fire and exploded near the city of Guwahati. More than a hundred others were injured, many of them seriously. Police say it took twenty fire engines more than eight hours to bring the fire under control.
