Monitors to investigate Sri Lanka attack
The Sri Lankan Government has announced that a special commission is to be set up to investigate an attack on two Tamil Tiger rebels on an island off Jaffna last Thursday.

The decision was made at a meeting in Jaffna involving government and rebel officials, as well as international observers monitoring the two sides' ceasefire.

A spokesman for the monitors said eyewitness reports indicate that three of the attackers involved in the incident in Kayts were in military uniforms.

The monitors say the incident was the work of individuals disobeying official orders in an attempt to undermine the Sri Lankan peace process.
