The Spanish prime minister, Jose Maria Aznar, is having talks in London today with his British counterpart Tony Blair.
But British officials say they will not be discussing the case of the former Chilean military leader, General Augusto Pinochet, who's receiving medical treatment in London.
A Spanish judge has requested his extradition to stand trial on charges of genocide and torture.
The highest British appeal court, the Law Lords, will rule later this week on whether the General's arrest two weeks ago was legal.
General Pinochet has been granted bail but remains under police guard at a north London hospital where he is recovering from back surgery.
