Five jailed in Qatar


Five Qataris have been jailed for ten years for an attempted bomb attack at a government building in 1996.

The five men were found guilty of setting up an illegal organisatiuon to sabotage public property and possessing firearms and explosives.

A sixth person was jailed for three years, and another acquitted.

A bomb placed in front of the immigration and passports office was defused.

At the time, a previously unknown group claimed responsibility.
