South African Deputy President visits Saudi Arabia


The South African Deputy President, Thabo Mbeki, has arrived in the Saudi Arabian capital, Riyadh, at the start of a four-day visit.

Mr Mbeki, who is due to take over from President Mandela when he retires next year, is scheduled to have talks with Saudi cabinet ministers and the Secretary General of the six-nation Gulf Cooperation Council about boosting oil co-operation.
