Bangladesh rejects Tripura claim


The Bangladesh government has denied that separatist rebels from the north-eastIndian state of Tripura are operating from Bangladeshi territory.

A senior official the foreign secretary, Mustafizur Rahman told the BBC that Bangladesh had not received any complaint about the matter from the Indian government.

He was responding to comments from the chief minister of Tripura who said the rebels from the National Liberation Front of Tripura were operating from bases in Bangladesh.
