There has been a very low turnout in the re-run of last week's election for the mayoralty of the Romanian capital, Bucharest.
Latest reports say only a about a third of eligible voters went to the polls.
Unlike last week's vote -- which was declared invalid because voter-turnout was below the legally required minimum -- there was no threshold for today's vote.
But there could be a run-off between the two leading candidates from a field of twenty two if no-one gains at least fifty one percent.
Results are expected on Monday.
Correspondents say that many Bucharest residents see the cost of the poll as a waste of funds when the city is plagued with urgent spending problems.
