Syria-Egypt summit

The Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak says Israel needs to make the first move if there's to be any progress towards peace with Syria.

He was speaking after talks in Egypt at the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh with Syria's President Hafez al-Assad.

Peace talks between Syria and Israel have been stalled for over two years and the Egyptian leader said it was essential that Israel created a climate of confidence for them to resume.
