A winner has finally emerged for Italy's biggest lottery jackpot, after eleven weeks without a winner.
The prize of forty-million dollars, one of the biggest in Europe, has not been claimed by the ticket holder, but reports from the southern resort town of Peschici said local people danced with joy when the result was announced.
The draw attracted many hopefuls from Switzerland and France who bought tickets just inside the Italian border.
