Over a thousand representatives of refugees from the breakaway Georgian region of Abkhazia have been meeting in the Georgian capital, Tbilisi.
The conference, which discussed ways of resolving the conflict in Abkhazia, was also attended by the Georgian President, Eduard Schevardnadze.
A BBC correspondant at the conference says Mr Shevardnadze is expected to meet the Abkhaz leader Vladislav Arzinba in the first half of November.
