NATO headquarters in Brussels says the order has been given for surveillance flights over Kosovo to begin early next week to verify that Serb forces are withdrawing as agreed.
A NATO official said the unarmed aircraft would be deployed as they became available from NATO member countries.
They would operate from bases in Italy and back up the planned two thousand observers on the ground under the command of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe.
