Former ministers in Bihar corruption case refused bail

A court in the Indian state of Bihar has rejected the bail applications of two former chief ministers, Laloo Prasad Yadav and Jagannath Mishra, in a case involving alleged embezzlement of public funds -- widely known as the fodder scandal.

The court did grant bail on medical grounds to another former minister, Bholaram Tufani, but it refused applications from five other people facing charges in the same case.

Mr Yadav and others say they will now apply for bail in a Higher Court.
