Friday, October 30, 1998 Published at 12:07 GMT World: Asia-Pacific Cambodia human rights The United Nations special representative for human rights in Cambodia, Thomas Hammarberg, has expressed concern about the government's suppression of opposition protests in August and September. Mr Hammarberg said at least thirty-four people had been killed and many appeared to have been executed. He said no evidence had been found to link the killing of twenty four others withthe political situation. Mr Hammarberg -- speaking at the end of a week-long visit -- described the government's request for help in reforming its criminal and legal system as a positive step.
