The Manics will be hoping to translate their nominations into trophies after being shortlisted for three Q awards - more than any other act this year.
Mike Hedges, their producer on the This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours album, is also in the running for Best Producer. Milestone for Manics The nominations are a further milestone in the band's recent success story. The group, from Blackwood, South Wales, have risen from cult success to mainstream fame, despite the loss of member Richey Edwards, who went missing in 1995 and still has not been found. Celebrities due to attend the event are Blondie singer Debbie Harry, The Corrs, Sharleen Spiteri of Texas, Chris Evans and Zoe Ball.
