Moi's $400.000+ retirement package

The Kenyan President, Daniel arap Moi is set to receive around four hundred thousand dollars a year as part of a pension package currently being considered by the Kenyan parliament.

Mr Moi has been Kenya's president since 1978.

Correspondents say that the aim of the pension offer, which also includes a house and twenty-seven staff, is to encourage him to retire at the end of his current term in two-thousand-and-three.
