Reports from Tajikistan say Switzerland has recalled its representatives from the United Nations observer mission in Tajikistan.

The Russian ITAR-TASS, news agency, quoting a UN diplomat, said the Swiss government had notified the mission two weeks ago citing concern over security.

Armed clashes and kidnappings have continued in the country despite a peace agreement reached last year between the government and the opposition.
