In Spain a panel of Judges will today decide whether they have the authority to try the General for alleged crimes commited abroad.
Thousands of supporters of the case against the General are holding twenty-four hour vigils across cities in Spain.
General Pinochet's lawyers in London say they are starting proceedings to have him released on bail.
Reports say a magistrate could decide that on Friday.
A police spokeswoman is reported to have said that General Pinochet would be moved to an undisclosed location with appropiate medical care but didn't say when.
She said a court would be convened in the location if deemed suitable.
