Syrian-Turkish meeting

Syrian and Turkish officials have held their first meeting since the two countries signed an agreement last week to reduce tension.

The meeting in Damascus comes amid reports that planned naval exercises between Turkey, Israel and the United States will be delayed.

The move is said to be a goodwill gesture to Syria following the agreement last week under which Damascus will take action against Turkish Kurd separatists.

The exercises in the eastern Mediterranean are now expected to take place at the end of November and early in December.
