Former Indian chief minister in custody

An Indian court has remanded in custody the former Chief Minister of the north Indian Bihar state, Laloo Prasad Yadav, who's facing charges in the case known as the fodder scam.

He's been on bail since being charged last year.

Mr.Yadav and four other politicians, including another former chief minister of Bihar, Jagannath Mishra, surrendered before a special court in the state capital, Patna.

The case involves allegations of embezzlement of public money meant for providing cattle fodder.
