Venglos wraps up Slovakian signing

Bhoys boss Venglos (centre) has turned to some Slovakian experience

Celtic have added to their foreign contingent by completing the signing of Slovakian international Lubomir Moravcik.

The 33-year-old midfielder has been recruited by fellow countryman, head coach Jozef Venglos, from German First Division outfit MSV Duisburg for a fee in the region of £300,000.

Venglos said: "Having worked with Lubomir at international level, I know of his qualities as a playmaker and a versatile, attacking midfielder.

"Lubomir has played at the highest level and he will be a valuable addition to the squad."

Moravcik said he was delighted to be joining the Glasgow giants: "Celtic's history and reputation is well known throughout the world and it is very exciting to come to a club of this stature.

"I am looking forward to joining a club with so many international players, such a tremendous stadium and of course so many magnificent and passionate supporters."

Moravcik, who has been capped 74 times, has played just five games for Duisburg since joining them from SC Bastia at the start of the Slovakian season.

The German side have already signed a replacement, Czech midfielder Martin Frydek, who joined on loan from Bayer Leverkusen last week.
