Afghan Taleban announce trial of Bin Laden The Afghan news agency Bakhtar reported on Tuesday 27th October that the Taleban Supreme Court was investigating accusations against Saudi fugitive Usamah Bin Ladin. It called for anyone with evidence to submit it to the court. The text of the report, as broadcast on Afghan Taleban radio, follows. In the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate. Dear listeners, may God's peace and blessing be upon you. The domestic and foreign policy of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is based on the foundations of the sacred religion of Islam. The country's internal and external affairs are being resolved in the light of the sacred religion of Islam and the lofty Mohammadan Shari'ah. A political commentator of Bakhtar Information Agency writes: The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has issued a statement and referred to the subject of accusations against Usamah Bin Ladin and the assessment of the circumstances concerning the killing of Iranians to the Supreme Court of Afghanistan and asked the court to investigate and study the cases. The statement says: Anyone in possession of any documents or evidence regarding accusations against Usamah Bin Ladin must hand them over to Mowlawi Nur Mohammad Saqeb, the Chief Justice and the president of the Supreme Court. It has also been stated in the statement that a report, which will be prepared by a special commission on unauthorized killing of Iranians, must also be handed over to the Supreme Court. As a powerful central government in the country, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan - the foundations of whose policies are based on the sacred religion of Islam and the lofty Shari'ah of Mohammad, may God's peace and blessing be upon him and his family, has given a task to the Supreme Court of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as the highest manifestation of the country's judicial system to assess and investigate comprehensively, on the basis of the instructions of the lofty Mohammadan Shari'ah, the Usamah Bin Ladin case - who has been cooperating alongside the Afghan mojahedin against Russians and occupiers since the holy jihad of Afghanistan's people and is now living in Afghanistan as a guest. The statement asks all country's nationals to hand over to the Supreme Court any documents and evidence that they may have in their possession related to the issue. International press has given more coverage to the Usamah Bin Ladin recently. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has referred the case to the Supreme Court in order to resolve the issue fundamentally so that a comprehensive investigation will be carried out on the basis of the instructions of the lofty Mohammadan Shari'ah. A commission has also been set up in order to investigate the unauthorized killing of Iranians. If as a result of the investigations any offenders can be found they must be handed over to the Supreme Court. This move by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is a logical and comprehensive move. This is because the lofty Mohammadan Shari'ah is enforced and is being implemented in our dear country more than any other country. All departments related to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan have adjusted the implementation of their tasks in the light of the instructions of the His Eminence Amir ol-Momenin and on the basis of the Mohammad Sharia'ah. This is especially the case with regard to the Supreme Court, as the highest judicial body of the country, which issues verdicts only in the light of Koranic texts and instructions of Prophet Mohammad. It has investigated very complicated issues and has taken action in resolving them on the basis of Shari'ah. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan as an independent state enjoys national sovereignty and territorial integrity. It resolves issues related to it on the basis of the tenets of Shari'ah governing society. It will not delegate issues related to itself to others as there is no need in Afghan society that others should decide about the fate of our issues. Due to the loyalty and commitment that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has to Islam, it has handed over the issue to the Supreme Court in order to fulfil its mission before the instructions of God Almighty and to implement the lofty Mohammadan Shari'ah. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has fulfilled the implementation of this issue on the basis of the instructions of the sacred religion of Islam, not under foreign pressure. By relying on God Almighty and the support of all Afghan people, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan will not pay any attention to foreign pressure. It has not submitted to foreign pressure and will not submit to it in future either. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is only committed to the instructions of the sacred religion of Islam and the lofty Mohammadan Shari'ah and will remain loyal to it. May God be with you.
