Nepal to host Buddhist summit

Nepal has announced that the first World Buddhist Summit is to be held in the country in December.

The Minister responsible for culture, Purna Bahadur Khadka, said the summit will be at Lumbini, birthplace of Lord Buddha, three-hundred kilomters from Kathmandu.

He said part of the aim was to draw world attention to the sanctity of the place.
