Porn Wars

This week's Panorama examines the British Board of Film Classification's experiment into a more liberal view of pornographic material.

In an interview with the programme, Lord Birkett, who was in line to become the BBFC's President, said Home Secreray Jack Straw was outraged at the moves:

"He said, do you really mean that you are going to allow oral sex and buggery and I don't know what else? That you are actually passing this, you are giving a certificate to it?"

Mr Straw dismissed the argument that liberalisation would help decrease the use of more violent pornography.
