Russia says its security services are continuing to check whether the fugitive Kurdish leader, Abdullah Ocalan, is on its territory, but so far it has found no trace.
The search began a week ago after Turkey said Mr Ocalan, the leader of the Kurdish Workers Party, was living in a Moscow suburb, and that it wanted him extradited.
The Turks say Mr Ocalan is responsible for Kurdish rebel activities on Turkish soil.
They recently threatened military action against Syria, after accusing it of allowing Mr Ocalan to direct Kurdish activities in Turkey from there.
But Syria also denies that Mr Ocalan is on its territory.
