AIDS conference opens in Vietnam


A conference looking at ways of combatting AIDS in South-east Asia has opened in the Vietnamese capital, Hanoi.

Health officials from ASEAN are focussing on further efforts to exchange information between countries as a way of controlling the spread of the disease.

Last week, figures released in Vietnam showed that the rate of infection of the HIV Human Immune Deficiency virus, increased by more than twenty-five percent in the first nine months of the year.
