Foreign ministers of the European Union say they have agreed to extend and tighten sanctions against Burma because of its human rights record.
In a statement, they said they'd try to ensure the measures, including restrictions on travel, were rigorously applied, in particular to members of the ruling military junta in Rangoon and their relatives.
They also supported a call by the pro-democracy leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, for tourists not to visit Burma.
