Monday, October 26, 1998 Published at 17:42 GMT Education Ofsted online ![]() The Chief Inspector of Schools and head of Ofsted, Chris Woodhead Parents who want to read school inspection reports are being promised an improved and expanded online service by the Office for Standards in Education. Ofsted's Website, which contains 24,000 school inspection reports and 18,000 nursery reports, has been redesigned to be easier to navigate. Other improvements include a wider range of reports and publications, better presentation of documents, and better search facilities. One of the new features is the addition of more than 200 reports on initial teacher training courses for secondary school teachers, which are accessible by subject or by college. The reports from the recently completed inspection programme of more than 80 initial teacher training courses for primary school teachers will soon be added. There are plans to include reports on local education authorities, independent schools, local authority adult and youth education services, and the military services' schools. |
