Authorities in the Swiss canton of Geneva say they are beginning moves for the extradition of the former Chilean leader,Augusto Pinochet, who is being held in Britain on a warrant from a Spanish judge.
The move follows a criminal complaint filed last week in Geneva by the widow of Alexis Jaccard, a student who had dual Swiss-Chilean nationality and disappeared in May 1977 in the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires.
There's been speculation he was kidnapped by the secret police of Chile.
Meanwhile in London, lawyers for General Pinochet have been seeking a High Court ruling aimed at securing his release.
The proceedings are continuing.
