U.N envoy to visit Burma

It has been announced in Rangoon that a United Nations envoy will visit Burma for talks with military government tomorrow Tuesday.

UN officials said the assistant secretary general, Alvaro de Soto, would be in Burma for four days, but did not give details.

Mr De Soto last visited Burma in January and met government leaders and the leader of the opposition National League for Democracy, Aung San Suu Kyi, in an effort to initiate talks.
