Taleban launch Bin Laden inquiry

The Taleban authorities in Afghanistan have launched an inquiry into the activities of the Saudi dissident, Osama Bin Laden, following the allegations of his involvement in international terrorism.

The United States has accused him of planning the bombings of two of its embasssies in East Africa in August.

A Taleban spokesman said that Mr Bin Laden -- who lives in Afghanistan -- was not involved in the attacks, but that allegations against him remained and needed to be cleared up.
