Strong winds and heavy rain unleashed by Hurricane Mitch have caused flooding in Jamaica and are now threatening the Cayman Islands as the hurricane moves further west.
With winds of up to two-hundred-and-forty kilometres an hour, Hurricane Mitch is still in open sea.
But forecasters say adverse weather is now affecting islands off the Colombian coast in the Caribbean, and say that a hurricane warning may be required in Honduras.
