Burma releases opposition members

The authorities in Burma say they've released another forty-one members of the opposition National League for Democracy, after detaining them for what they called an exchange of views.

A statement said the government had been meeting N-L-D members in this way since September, in an effort to work together towards national stability.

The opposition says nearly one-thousand of its members have been detained in recent months, as pressure from the government has intensified.
