Swaziland polls resume after being rained off

Voting in Swaziland's parliamentary elections has resumed after being adjourned eight days ago when heavy rains made many polling stations inaccessible.

The chief electoral officer, Robert Thwala, was quoted as saying that roads and bridges damaged during the storm had been repaired to enable voters to get to polling stations.

Political parties are banned from taking part and candidates have been nominated individually.

Opposition leaders, who are demanding wide-ranging constitutional reform, have called for a boycott.
