The 80ft three-masted Eendracht spent two days stuck in Newhaven Harbour, East Sussex. It is now on its way to France.

It took two days to move the vessel

The vessel, which is used for training, ran aground in heavy seas just after 0830 BST on Wednesday. High winds are thought to have pushed it onto sand banks.

All 51 people on board were later airlifted off.

Salvage experts from Holland helped to carry out the rescue operation with help from a tug from the Isle of Wight.

They had to wait until high tide before making the successful attempt to refloat the ship.

One person on board was taken to the Royal Sussex county hospital in Brighton but has since been discharged.
