Jordan denies King's health failing

Jordanian officials have dismissed reports that King Hussein's health is deteriorating.

A spokesman for the Jordanian embassy in London said the King was responding very satisfactorily to chemotheraphy treament for cancer, and was showing stable progress.

A report alleging that the health of the sixty-two year-old monarch was failing appeared in a British newspaper The Times.

Jordanian officials said the King's active role in the Maryland peace talks showed this was false and inaccurate.
