Man charged with salesman's murder
Mr Anderson appeared in private on petition
A 31-year-old man has appeared in court charged with murdering a tools salesman who went missing almost nine months ago.
Gary Linn, from Kilsyth in Stirlingshire, was last seen on 31 August last year. The body of the 38-year-old father-of-three was found on Friday night near the Braidwood overbridge at the South Esk river, by Temple, Midlothian.
Mr Anderson, of Laurel Bank, Woodburn, Dalkeith, near Edinburgh, was also charged with robbing a motor vehicle and with attempting to defeat the ends of justice. He made no plea or declaration when he appeared in private on petition. Mr Anderson was committed for further examination and remanded in custody. He is expected to appear in court again in a week's time.
