Man remanded over Hannah murder
Hannah was last seen alive in April 2001
A man accused of the murder of a 14-year-old schoolgirl was remanded in custody when he appeared before magistrates.
Robert Howard, 58, of Lions Close, Mottingham, south-east London, is accused of killing Hannah Williams between 20 April 2001 and 16 March 2002. He appeared at Medway magistrates' court in Chatham, Kent, on Monday. Mr Howard was committed to stand trial at crown court at a date to be fixed. Hannah's body was found by workmen at the Blue Circle works in Northfleet, Kent, in March this year. The 14-year-old was last seen alive at her home in Deptford, south London, on 21 April 2001.
