Man shot in 'parking row'
The victim is reported to be in a "stable" condition
A man has been shot and wounded in a London street after what is believed to have been a row over parking.

The 26-year old victim was hit in the armpit following a dispute with another driver in Brixton, south London.

The incident took place just after midnight on Sunday as the man tried to park his blue Ford Puma in the one-way system near St Matthew's Church.

Police later arrested a 42-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman but are still seeking a second man.

Handgun used

Police said the victim had been attempting to park but gave up and tried to drive away.

He then became involved in a dispute with a motorist in a blue Chrysler Grand Voyager, seemingly over his holding up the traffic.

The driver of the Chrysler drew a handgun and shot the victim before making off.

The police are still looking for a man described as black with light skin, in his mid-30s with a moustache and wearing a dark nylon jacket.

Surgery likely

The man and woman arrested were taken to separate south London police stations for questioning.

The victim, from Streatham, south London, was taken to a south London hospital where he is expected to undergo surgery to remove the bullet.

He is reported to be in a stable condition.

The Flying Squad's shootings team is investigating the attack and it wants anyone with information to contact Brixton Police on 020 7326 1212 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
