Iran opposition lawyer jailed

Reports from Iran say a lawyer who has been acting for opposition politicians has been sentenced to five months imprisonment for defamation of the country's conservative judiciary.

The Noruz newspaper said the man, Mohamad Dadkhah, was also banned from practicing law for 10 years.

Mr Dadkhah is one of the lawyers of the Iran Freedom Movement led by Ebrahim Yazdi.

Mr Yazdi has recently appeared in court on charges of acting against national security and possessing illegal weapons.
