In pictures: E Timor set for independence
East Timor, which becomes the world's newest nation on Sunday, is preparing to celebrate its hard-won independence from Indonesia.
About 80 nations are sending representatives to attend the ceremony, and excited crowds are gathering in the capital, Dili.
