Cheshire Police spokesperson

Police have said the 72-year-old, from Deeside, did not have his briefcase with him when he was found.

Two men and two women arrested in connection with the incident were questioned by detectives on Saturday.

The men, aged 30 and 36, were arrested on Friday.

Police later arrested two women aged 18 and 36.

A spokeswoman for Cheshire Police said Mr Bhandari's heart attack may have been triggered by stress or exertion.

Witness appeal

She said: "We now have emerging evidence that Mr Bhandari may have been the victim of a street robbery."

Mr Bhandari had been walking towards the bus station in the town after attending a meeting in nearby Victoria Road.

Police have appealed for anyone with information concerning the incident to contact them.

"We now believe Mr Bhandari may have been involved in an altercation on his way to the bus station when he was approached by a number of people," said the spokeswoman.

"We are attempting to identify who these people were and the make-up of the group he was seen with."

Mr Bhandari's briefcase remains missing.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the incident room on 01244 350222 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
