In pictures: India's heat wave
India has been sweltering under a heat wave for more than a week, with the worst hit state, Andhra Pradesh, reporting that at least 620 people have been killed by heat-related illnesses.
Forecasters say the high temperatures could continue, with hot winds blowing in from Rajasthan.
Both animals and humans have been finding the heat difficult to bear
The children who pull carts in the slums of New Delhi opted for sleeping through the heat
As did the rickshaw drivers
The battle to stay cool is ongoing
And for some it has proved too much, hundreds are being treated for heat-related illnesses
But for men dealing in second-hand fan parts the heat means big business
The same is true of the water melon vendors
